Besides that, I think he was actually saying "imagine being able to stop in each city for 30 minutes at a time then going to the next." Presumably that would be a realistic day trip.

It would probably be a little longer, just because the train takes time to reach top speed and only does that on very straight areas. So probably more like 45 minutes or so - but still, very much a commute if you have a pretty quick option for door to door on each side.

I just had one land on me, my wife saw it happen. Looking into it, it has to be a Giant Asian Hornet. (I've seen and dealt with Cicada Killers before, this was not one)
