I try not to be conspiracy brained, but I think the 1 no vote on the basis of "victim identity protection", was also a purposeful out to not release them under that same explanation.

Yeah, the bill was to force release after 30 days. The fact that they opened those investigations 2 days before the vote was likely their backup plan because they can just say that they can't release them due to the open investigation.

Usually it's just racism, the racism+fascism combo is even worse.
i think this time it's more that lots of air travelers are acting like assholes, but the Republicans are at fault for emboldening people to act like assholes with little consequence. They can't admit that, so it's clothes.
