After reporting the news, games media must now grapple with what the call to boycott Xbox means for us. I wrote about why we must and how we can orient games writing towards liberation. Games nor words alone will save us, but we can as individuals express solidarity and possibility in all we do.
Games media can't ignore BDS Xbox boycott

alright mr nintendo said theyre friends, you know the drill: delete the ao3 archives, burn deviant arts servers, transfer all of pixiv to a flash drive and drop it to the bottom of the sea. Artist alleys WILL be censored. Everyone is being asked to voluntarily delete that botw fic off their kindle.
In Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment's English localization, Zelda calls Link "a knight and a friend". This detail is not present in the Japanese version.

A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

Defeat Isn't Enough For Andrew Cuomo And His Pack Of Lunatics | Defector
A New York City mayoral election is, definitionally, not anyone outside of the city’s business. That this year’s campaign, which ended in Zohran Mamdani’s victory on Tuesday night, became everybody’s…

I wrote this in June and the disgusting way since then that Cuomo and the oligarchs have been willing to tear the social fabric of the city apart to stop him has only made it more true and Zohran’s victory more thunderous.

Next we stop ICE.
This Is The Beginning of The End of The 9/11 Era
Capital and nativism will fight even harder against Zohran Mamdani now. But in capital's seat of power, socialism defeated barbarism. I fucking love New York

now that im seeing people praise the general depiction of Zelda in Imprisonment it would be neat to try and really reconcile it with not only how the original game treats her (deeply offensively) but also the recent official paratext that is the Zelda notes app (with hostility)
Something the voice notes in the TotK phone app make me feel certain of is no one hates Zelda like some guy at Nintendo must

Bail reform not only made New York more just, it also literally made it safer.

Too bad our elected leaders, public safety officials, and the overwhelming majority of the press are so deeply invested in a narrative entirely divorced from empirical reality.

NYPost: the Blood Moon rises once again on commie nyc
Can not stress enough how cartoonishly perfect of a day it is in NYC today. A comfortable 65 degrees. No cloud in the sky. Most golden light you have ever seen. It’s like the city is on a soundstage. You would call it corny if you saw it in a movie’s ending.
