They're in a better position than most, but tariffs are going to hurt USian gamers and most game companies HARD.
The recent impositions of tariffs by the USA is going to affect just about every industry and every sector. The Design Mechanism specializes in paper-based roleplaying games, and so is sensitive to changes in the costs of paper, ink, and the machinery used in the printing industry. We do have some protection against tariffs; we moved to a 100% print on demand model some time ago, and partner with Lulu which has print centres spread across the globe. When you order from us, your book is printed in the Lulu facility closest to where you live, and ships from the same facility. This means that US customers are buying books that will be printed and made in the USA, Canadian customers benefit from the Canadian print centre, European and Australian customers similarly. We do not print in China and import books to regional distribution hubs, so there will be no import tariffs to be paid as a result for US customers. However, in the USA, Lulu print facilities rely on paper sourced from Canada, and so there may well be price rises in US-printed books simply because the cost of paper will increase (this is already taking effect with DrivethruRPG, which uses Ingram as its POD partner, and Ingram are already raising their US prices). We will try to absorb price rises as much as we can, but it's likely that we will have to make some adjustments if Lulu require it. We will, of course, try to keep everyone informed if or when prices change.

I just painted the windows, though some of that was because the combo of bad primer and fire damage to said primer. the rest was I just couldn't be arsed.

Five years ago today, we went from being hopeful for the future, to losing our apartment and almost everything we owned just before the whole Pandemic thing happened.

We still have not recovered financially, even with insurance. Don't know if we'll ever recover mentally/emotionally.

Like many weird rail things, it was awesome, but impractical.
A Budd-manufactured Rail Diesel Car with an experimental shroud on the front and Jet Engines on the top. The photo is black and white. The Cail Diesel Car is a sel;f-contained passenger rail vehicle, kinda like a tram, but for regular railroads. It is distinctive in that is is mostly unpainted stainless steel, and the shroud on the front is a darker colour with the logo of the New york Central railroad on it, along with M-497 under each of the slit-like windows in the shroud.

Looking at my Model Railroad groups where they're building fancy viaducts and bridges and cityscapes based on their childhoods..

And I grew up in Saskatchewan.
A train pulling grain cars with a grain elevator in the rear. the land is very flat, and there is a very striking difference between the yellow/orange ground, the blue sky, and the colourful train. The train is two boxy CN engines with red fronts and black/white angled striping with multiple grain hopper cars following. The first few are an orange/brown Saskatchewan car, a red Ranada car, a brown/yellow Canada/Saskatchewan car, a blue Alberta car, and the rest are red or brown./yellow. The grain elevator is an orange Pioneer elevator with a metallic grain bin almost as tall as it in front, and a smaller metallic grain bin in front of that.

I have a Rogue Trader era Land Raider.

I would post some other stuff, but sadly, we lost most everything in a fire in 2020 and the Land Raider is one of the few things that survived.
A Tan/beige plastic model of a Warhammer 40k Land Raider. It has an irregular hexagonal shape with large chunky tracks. The tracks have green filler putty on them. It is obvious the kit is an older design and older quality. There are side sponson Lascannons held on with magnets. Additionally, there are grey detailing parts indicating the Land raider belongs to the Dark Angels Chapter/Legion of Space Marines.
