Libraries are the last bastions of refuge in the war against ignorance. Remember, when they come to burn the books, when they try to rewrite history, when they come for the academics, for the scientists and for the philosophers, the Librarians will guard them, we’ll stand our ground and fight.
Welcome 💚
I had high hopes but it’s an absolute car crash. Greens all the way for me.

And it’s chief cheerleader is odds on to be Britain’s next Prime Minister …
Brexit costs the government around £90bn.

Without Brexit we could have tax cuts and spending increases. We would have hope & optimism, not gloom & despair.

Brexit harms the British people, especially the poor & vulnerable. No politician can support Brexit and claim to care for ordinary people.

First they came for the private schools, and I said nothing, then they came for the multimillion pound land owners and I was silent, now they come for me, the owner of a second home in Devon, and there was no one left who gave a shit about me.

I think Jeremy and Zara would be great assets to the Green Party if they could just put aside their egos and support them in a junior role.
Luke Tryl, More In Common Polling, "Zack Polanksi has been having by any measure an immensely impressive start as leader of The Greens"

"I just wonder if the infighting between Jeremy Corbyn and Zara Sultana, and the rise of The Green Party, might mean that Your Party has lost its moment"

Brutal, glad he got out alive.
Your courageous Saffer on the frontline, bravely giving eye-witness testimony from the meat grinder that is the streets of London.

Watch his brush with death as a woman tells him to stop talking nonsense.

And America voted for it. Twice.
This tired, deeply-damaged man is so needy. He has to have references to him being president on his hat, on his shirt, and on a golf-framed placard next to his overcooked cheeseburger he's almost too-out-of-it to eat.

The death rattles of greed. Ugly ain’t it. Maybe it’s time to sell his tax avoidance farm and move to Dubai.
They're all kicking off.

The last gaps of the old broken system that protected their power & wealth.

Change is coming.

The scale of the Brexit damage forces the less dishonest Brexiters to admit reality.

(Sunak, same paper, continues to delude himself and his readers)
(Farage would rip up any reset and plunge business into more costly uncertainty)

If you look at the ridiculous case studies they dredged up & the desperate attempts to hang Reeves for ‘lying’ about the rationale behind a policy she *did not introduce*, you might work out why right-wing media is straining *not* to talk about the finer detail of her (unremarkable) budget.

Not what I voted for…
The Labour Government refused a 1% asset tax on the super rich, yet raised taxes on people already struggling.

All whilst their "black hole" turned out to be utter nonsense.

Active choices to refuse to fund our communities which they desperately need.

I think you are confusing irregular migration such as small boat arrivals with regular migration who arrive here through agreed legal routes. Also 8 billion people is close to the total population of the Earth, just for the record there’s 36,273 people seeking asylum & living in hotel accommodation.
Indeed. I was using the government figure for hotels etc. it’s almost 8 billion so they say. I think you’re assuming there’s no time lag between arriving and becoming a tax payer. But most arrivals are not skilled and unlikely to earn enough to become a tax payer for many years. In the meantime….
Pressures on public services are as a result of 14 years of austerity, Brexit and Covid. Adding an additional £28 billion to the existing deficit is not going to help fix any of the previous bad decisions and lack of investment. Quite the opposite.

Billionaire wealth has increased significantly, with a 1000% surge between 1990 & 2022, and a £35 million daily increase in 2024. Now the top 50 richest families hold more wealth than the poorest 50% of the population, while wages have stagnated and working peoples income is subsidised by the state.
A fact being ignored even more than usual: 70% of the money from abolishing the two-child limit will go to families who are in work (via @ippr.org).

Can’t remember budget ‘case studies’ ever being quite so funny. Especially in newspapers that recently anointed Liz Truss a fiscal genius.
Wow - this guy must be really, REALLY bad with money if an extra £208 per month will “ruin” his retirement.

Let’s take a look at his situation based on what he told the @Telegraph

Because this does NOT add up!

No, this is not a “poor pensioner” scrabbling around for pennies…

UK independence and anti EU, wins Brexit but chooses to live in the EU in a castle in France.

And definitely not bribed by Russia.
🚨 Another one?
David Coburn former UKIP leader in Scotland is now named in Nathan Gill’s WhatsApp’s. 🇷🇺

And guess where Coburn lives now?
🇫🇷A Castle in France…

You couldn’t make this up.
