The 1956 Hungarian Revolution stirs my soul on many levels. The stand against autocracy, the fight for democracy, the beginning of a new life for our family in America.
It is also solemn remembrance. I lost my paternal grandfather when Soviet tanks rolled in to crush the uprising in Budapest.
