An under-appreciated piece of this story is that one of the more liberal members of Congress met with clergy to discuss ICE/DHS, and she found herself to the *right* of several faith leaders whose support for abolishing ICE was so intense that they got into a genuine spat with her over it.

Granted…
“Renee Goodman [sic], Alex Pretti – there are no words,” DeLauro said.

“You said there were no words after the murder of those two individuals,” said Rev. Jack Perkins Davidson. “I think the words are ‘Abolish ICE.’”

This was unexpectedly moving: a letter from the Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada to the Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church. The “bonds of affection” between Anglicans are tenacious and real.

Former criminal defense attorney here.

If what we’ve seen of the Epstein Files so far—heavily redacted and with 3 million pages still missing—is bad, keep in mind that the *Files in full* are a *hundred* times worse.

That’s how this works.

You’re seeing the G-rated version.

It’s notable that the president can go on TV and be a total gutter racist, and somehow this isn’t news in the slightest. Says a lot about the sickness of American society right now.
