I don't post much about work, but today I added an index on a database for one of our top regressed queries. It resulted in a noticeable drop in CPU. Execution time dropped 83% and this is for a query that executes ~10k times an hour on just this DB. Now to deploy to the 22k other DBs. #sqlserver

I spent the weekend trying to decompress from the last year of my life. Upon arriving at home I learned my mom was in the process of being scammed. I frantically went to her house and we were able to quickly shut it down but she still is out $1000.

All companies who manufacture smart TVs should really consider that some of their buyers are seniors and your menus are overly complicated for them to understand quickly. My mom just got a new Samsung and the interface for her to get to Hulu, etc is terrible on every level.

It was about two weeks of stress, waiting and wondering but my mom’s car and her pod arrived in Phoenix. This week she moves into her new place and we will get our space/house back.

I have flown from AZ > CT 5 times since March & 3 times in the last 6 weeks to help my mom move. We left CT today and I don’t think I will ever return. I am absolutely exhausted on every level. While I never lived in that house it was bittersweet to say goodbye to the last house my dad lived in.
