Thank you. I think this maybe is fast turning into a need-to.

I made a list of some carols I love - mostly old/weird/obscure - and another of my Winter-themed originals (some silly, some poignant) and I think I can put a decent set together. Right. Ok. Yes.

😆

Got to ask. The bread or the grass?

(Re the bread - I hope there is a bakery in Hookland called The Vicious Loaf.)

Yay! Thank you for that!🌺

>> My YouTube Channel has vids of the Kitchen Sessions I did from Lockdown onwards, which are the sort of flavour I’d aim for.

There are many old & obscure carols I adore, & over the years I’ve written a diverse set of seasonal pieces of my own incl ‘The Road to Avebury’.

This might be a Thing!

I was once, in truth, bitten by bread. It was a thick slice of garlic bread, torn from a somewhat overly-crusty baguette. The crust parted as I bit, *and closed again on my lip* as I pulled back.

The bread drew blood.

(I also had to have stitches once following an encounter with grass. Really.)

Lack of access to safe meaningful exercise, (parks, safe roads), all kinds of preventative medicine & mental health support too…

There are SO MANY ways to make SOME things SOMEWHAT better, all of which deliver positive knock-on effects. Hard not to conclude recent Govts really don’t give a toss😔

I am DELIGHTED! I wish & will you a ton of fun with it.

And ngl I just love the idea of normalising ‘I’m not going to take this textile craft project any further, does anyone else want to take it from here?’

#MakeItFromHere
#knitting

Now I’m going to start something new! 😊

Thank you again 🧶

Thank you! It matters so much to add a bit of joy and revel in the good of the here and now. I’d had a bit of a down week and this was a really good pick-me-up.

We also sang excerpts from ‘Let it Snow’ all over the place as we walked along XD

>> 2. (Out of order & belated) Someone sneezed VERY LOUDLY in a large crowded charity shop and there was a CHORUS of ‘Bless you!’ and everyone laughed. The lady at the till said ‘A choir of blessings!’

How lovely was that? And then I spotted a little blue glass sun and it was £1.30 and I bought it.

>> 5. We counted down with the crowd and saw the lights on, and legged it for quieter spaces. Now I have a deep wish to curl up and read while listening to some really old Christmas carols, good pagan that I am.

>> 4.2 As each new person joined the queue, ‘aren’t gendered loos bollocks’ and ‘we’re just all using both cubicles’ was repeated to orient the newcomers.

Everyone agreed, everyone got to pee, the queue got shorter & the more NB-presenting young folks in the queue gave me a good pair of grins.
