Quick question: is it more offensive to "call" for the deaths of people in Group A, than it is for Group A to actually really kill real people in Group B...

COFFIN COLLARS like this one were used to thwart bodysnatchers in the early 19th century. The collar was fixed around the neck of a corpse and bolted to the bottom of a coffin, making it nearly impossible to remove the body from its grave. Bodysnatchers sold corpses to medical schools.

Not had a #ManicMonday for a while so today's offering is Gold Against the Soul. A much maligned album imo, it has some absolute bangers on it. Sleepflower, Nostalgic Pushead, La Tristesse, and From Despair to Where. Happy Monday folks

I tell you what, it must be banging in haselmere. Waiting at Havant and there's 3 bus replacement coaches. ALL of them are bound for haselmere. I guess those of us who need Southampton can walk.

It's Monday again but the sun is shining. Today's #ManicMonday is The Ultra Vivid Lament from 2021. At first go it seems James has been listening to too much ABBA but the album is growing on me. I love Still Snowing in Sapporo, and there's something of the end of a horror movie about Orwellian

For today's #ManicMonday the wheel of choice selected 2001's Know Your Enemy. I think this album gets a bit of a rough rep because it wasn't the "call back" to early manics some folks were hoping for. Found that Soul is a banger though. Happy Monday folks 🙂

Popped to Quarr Abbey to see the pigs & have a cup of tea. Great quote from the next table "Nothing she said was enough for him to want to stab someone to death".

The mind boggles...

Little bit of millennial joy for me today - a cassette player with proper buttons (that also converts tapes to MP3). But what the heck is up with the reversed play, fast forward and rewind buttons?? This was made by someone born after 2000 surely...

When America's president is a stupid, brutal, thug, Americans should celebrate foreign leaders who resist him in decency's name. God bless Gustavo Pietro.
In a world full of feckless cowards and kiss asses, be a Gustavo Pietro.

There was a time that imposing a tax on certain imported goods would result in Americans rising up against their rulers. These days the rulers just have to lie to them about what a tariff is and they cheer the tax they're forced to pay.

A poem about my granny, who when they told the ghetto Jews to pack for a long trip, got into her Sunday best & heels under a coat, later dropping the coat and stepping out of line with her brother. Brazen refusal to obey. In later peacetime life, not the best impulse. But it had saved her many times
