Why European Universities Must Not Follow America's
The American model has produced rentier capitalism and functional illiteracy—Europe's universities must return to their civilising mission.

I have to say that I never heard such nonsense before!? do you believe that only the powerful can change the world? I’ve been involved in the Irish € British anti Apartheid movement since I was 15. Sport boycotts done it!
With NO effect.
It was Ronald Reagan and the US Congress (Constructive Engagement) that drove South Africa to give up Apartheid.
And of course the left prefers silly folk tales than that fact.

Ireland watch out!
Tech billionaires are plotting to buy land to set up empires per FT - physical homelands. They want to escape from US institutions and Democracy! Too many homeless in San Francisco has annoyed them. One“Cyberlibertarianist”is grandson of Milton Freedman, Patri, opposes democracy.

Since 1965 Anti Apartheid movements including Ireland’s fought Apartheid & eventually we closed down successfully.

Not so. We changed the regime by these actions from the 1960s on South Africa’s Apartheid regime. Took time but soon Netenyahoos oppressive regime in Israel will be shunned by all decent people who detest imperialism
And for once she is right
Taoiseach Micheál Martin has described Ireland’s withdrawal from the Eurovision Song Contest as an “act of solidarity”.

However, DUP deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly said it “won’t make a jot of difference” to the situation in the Middle East.

Not Social Democracy!
In February, Britain’s Labour government cut international development spending. MPs, aid experts and officials have told us that the scale of the cuts is on a par with the US under Trump.

But barely anyone made a noise.

I am totally against netenyahoos Genocide but this week park denaming will do Nothing!
What? Herzog pardoned many murderous settlers for truly disgusting acts of terrorism. His son has the same attitude.
How do you make any connection between a family for which genocide is not a red line and a man who relentlessly helped people?

People in the South will not go for unity when the cost is understood. Meanwhile we in south should help our northern friends often & regularly.

While many Northern nationalists see unification as a solution to poor governance, that is a fallacy

I’m totally against denaming #Herzog Park in Dublin. If we continue with de-Naming next will be all the O’Connell streets in Ireland! Why - the great Catholic Emancipator? Anti Slaver too! Because he opposed banning child labour in the British Parliament, as James Connolly pointed out.

Last night, hundreds of Amazon workers in Frankenthal, Germany, walked off the job for the first time. They defied intimidation from management – and joined trade union ver.di and the growing global movement to #MakeAmazonPay.

UNI Europa stood with them on the picket lines.

Make Putin’s Russia pay!
Belgium is resisting using frozen Russian reserves to fund a loan to Ukraine — arguing it will be on the hook if Moscow claws back the billions.

But five diplomats from different European countries say Belgium appears to have a secondary agenda.

Misdirection! You support privatisation of public housing with subsidies of up to 69% to those fortunate to benefit from that fiscal misdirection too?
Join the protest today against Dublin City Council's attempt to hike rents for Council and HAP tenants. This will push many people over the edge.

If they get away with it in Dublin City, expect the same in South Dublin and across the country.

I was referring to small “d”democrats but the Democrats leadership stinks - look at Larry Summers! Look at the uncritical stance and facilitation of unbridled “winner takes all” globalisation they pursued.
Democrats bear much of the blame for this mess.

We don’t have the luxury of a slow awakening.

The Democrats Gave Us Trump and deserve much of the blame.

Maybe it’s time to pivot to China as Pissani Ferry argues particularly as it’s so heavily investing in Innovative climate products
Trump may change his mind tomorrow. But if this becomes fixed US policy there will have to be personal and political consequences, for the US will have become more of an enemy than a friend. And I don't think it can then be business as usual. I for one wouldn't visit the US under such circumstances.
Here is Trump's full 28 point plan for Ukraine. It would destroy Ukraine as a sovereign state and leave it helpless to face a Russian attack in the future. It would also give Putin full vindication and immunity from prosecution.
