How are you holding up?

Pictures from my hike this morning. There were a surprising number of people out on the trails given that it was pretty gray. Towards the end of the hike there was a hint of sun and a blue sky. ❄️

Not that I'm really racing, when the trails are covered with very hard, packed snow, it is perfect conditions for microspikes. You can actually hike faster under these conditions than you can on a dry trail. This was the fastest time that I have completed this loop, under any season.

Happy weekend to all my moots, whether you like to spend your winter days indoors or outdoors. ❄️🥾

Mistrise Village is great for decks that want to use very expensive spells as a wincon (including X spells).

Definitely a wincon in my Locust God EDH deck.

I've been inside the Stata Center at MIT a number of times. It's a pretty confusing building on the inside: It can be hard to find rooms. They also had major problems with water leaks and other design flaws, which resulted in a lawsuit being filed by MIT against Gehry and the building contractor.

Nice and unexpected Space: 1999 reference in S2E8 of "For All Mankind." 🚀

Message left in the snow along the hiking trail.

[The message is not from me. I do love you, but I'm way too shy to say so.]

This is what winter hiking does to a 59-year old body.

Went for a short outing after work, to check my winter gear and the trail conditions before the season's first winter hike this weekend.

For good measure, the post was tagged as hate speech for saying "C1$gender is treated as a slur."

Hard to choose, but certainly one of the most memorable was watching the wedding procession of Sweden's crown princess Victoria and prince Daniel in June 2010 with my daughter.

Not the best picture, but kiwis are really hard to photograph, even in captivity.

Before showing my listening age, Spotify tried to make me feel less bad with the message "Age is just a number." Dude, I'm 59. #SpotifyWrap

This is one of my favorite Swedish holiday traditions. If there is one thing Swedes are good at, it's spreading light in the darkness of winter.

One of the things I like about my employer is the annual holiday shipment of chocolate truffles. 😋🎄

I've only been to New Zealand once, two weeks in August/September 2024. I would love to have seen the Pōhutukawa in the Parnell Rose Gardens in bloom.

Sharing a few more pictures from my hike this morning. Winter is definitely around the corner. I'm actually kind of glad to see the weather act normal, instead of seeing dragonflies in the air and newts in the water mid-November.

Good morning from 2 km. It's 1° C and there is not a cloud in the sky. 🥾☀️
