Pictures from my hike this morning. There were a surprising number of people out on the trails given that it was pretty gray. Towards the end of the hike there was a hint of sun and a blue sky. ❄️

Happy weekend to all my moots, whether you like to spend your winter days indoors or outdoors. ❄️🥾

I just canceled my TCGplayer subscription because of their systematic attempts at union-busting and declining quality of service. By happy coincidence, the next monthly charge was scheduled for tomorrow.

One thing I'd like to change about the U.S. is to remove every TV from medical and dental office waiting rooms.

Message left in the snow along the hiking trail.

[The message is not from me. I do love you, but I'm way too shy to say so.]

This is what winter hiking does to a 59-year old body.

Went for a short outing after work, to check my winter gear and the trail conditions before the season's first winter hike this weekend.

This is one of my favorite Swedish holiday traditions. If there is one thing Swedes are good at, it's spreading light in the darkness of winter.

One of the things I like about my employer is the annual holiday shipment of chocolate truffles. 😋🎄

Sharing a few more pictures from my hike this morning. Winter is definitely around the corner. I'm actually kind of glad to see the weather act normal, instead of seeing dragonflies in the air and newts in the water mid-November.

Today is the ninth anniversary of the passing of my father. I have posted this photograph several times before, but it remains my favorite picture of us two. It was taken in Paris, October 3, 2008, so he is 71 here and I am 42. He was a great human being.

The best part about Germanic languages is the formation of compound nouns. This is from an article I just sent to my daughter. The word "pepparkakshusbakarna" is 20 letters long and wouldn't even raise an eyebrow. There is one downside: Phone keyboards are not very good at predicting them.

I've worked 35 years in the air transportation field and I have never seen a route that looks like this. Not sure if it is real or an artifact in the FlightAware plotting algorithm.

BREAKING: Public Health Expert Confirms U.S. Zombie Infestation. 🧟‍♀️
So far there is no evidence that this did not occur.
The claim "RFK Jr was not bitten by a zombie" is not an evidence-based claim because studies have not ruled out the possibility that RFK Jr was indeed bitten by a zombie.
