Did you know? Women in the US weren’t allowed to have their own credit cards until 1974, following the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, which prohibited discrimination based on sex or marital status. Before this, women without a husband's signature were denied, or had to have a male relative co-sign.

JUST IN: Judge Mehta rules that Trump/Russ Vought's termination of environmental grants during the shutdown — targeted solely at states that voted for Kamala Harris — violated the 5th Amendment's Equal Protection clause and orders them restored.

Holy shit
Hard to overstate what a remarkable statement this is from a Republican senator — even a retiring one — accusing thte Trump White House of weaponizing DOJ to control the Fed:

"It is now the independence and credibility of the Department of Justice that are in question."

I think the world IS getting outraged…
Don’t be so sure Nepo Mogul and Big Daddy & their hackish minions will win this. Their craven and sloppy and really incompetent stylings here are devastating in ways that will eventually become clear. They just suck at every bit of this and explicitly look like the pathetic power grabbers they are.
"The crisis of democracy is a crisis of information—citizens make bad decisions, in part, because they are starved of the facts. And it can get worse."

The world is not outraged enough that Trump is using his power to force CBS and CNN to mold to his views. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2025/1...

But he won't go after China where much of this comes from because he wants to make "deals" that he can brag about.
DJT just signed an EO designating illicit fentanyl and its core precursor chemicals as Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD).

The first night of Hanukkah is about light and truth.

After the antisemitic terror attack in Australia, that message matters more than ever — light over darkness, faith over fear, and resilience in the face of hate.

Hope the Senate will stand up for the rights of federal workers.
Earlier this year Trump stripped away collective bargaining rights from federal workers at the VA, TSA, & more.

For months, we fought to restore those union rights with the Protecting America’s Workforce Act. (1/2)

Ridiculous
If I were an Indiana congressperson this would really piss me off. I'd be more determined than ever to stand up against something I knew was wrong. The mob boss approach works best on people you have kompromat on, not people just trying to do their jobs.
Republicans announce the entire state of Indiana will be defunded if they do not obey Trump by gerrymandering their state.

“Roads will not be paved. Guard bases will close. Major projects will stop.”

This is insane.
Trump repealed a Biden era minimum staffing requirement rule for nursing homes that was intended to improve the quality of care for residents and now not only will this put more money in the pockets of millionaires, it will lead to poorer outcomes and more hospitalizations for said residents
