I'll likely put something together as we get closer to the start of the season, but I'm really impressed with Omaha's incoming class.
Omaha's weaknesses included depth F scoring and offense from D.
At a high-level glance, those needs appear to have been addressed.

Transfer portal was wild yesterday, but it was foreseeable. The impact of CHL eligibility can't be understated.
USHL is a key source of quality NCAA hockey talent. USHL has ~400 players.
CHL eligibility adds ~2,000 players of USHL quality into the recruiting pool (WHL, QMJHL, OHL & CIS).

It's tough to see all these Mavs in the portal. They put everything into making the most out of last season. They all have my respect.
The unfortunate reality is that CHL eligibility has dramatically changed the recruiting landscape with immediate effect.

Nebraska-Omaha continuing its pipeline to Quebec, with late '06 Right Winger Vincent Desjardins. No indication of what year he's expected, but noteworthy that Blainville's season ended Monday. The theory is that CHL players with eligibility would announce only after their current season is done.

Omaha will be bringing in a bunch of new guys. Many of them will have CHL connections. Omaha will not have to fill their goalie room which will make them a continued problem for other schools.
4. Arizona State winning as much as it has in the league this year shouldn't shock. I'm mad at myself for not seeing it.
5. I know Buium is probably signing, but look at that crop of younger guys Denver has.
6. Going to be interesting to see what Omaha does from here. They'll have holes to fill.

Tough weekend for Omaha, results aside. Losing Israels is a big deal. Glad they have the bye now to reset. Only a month left of the season now..enjoy what’s left with this group. Lots of change coming this summer with CHL, house settlement, etc. Omaha may look a lot different next season.
