yeah. MeToo, the George Floyd protests, and an ~18 month period of very tight labor markets induced a mental breakdown across the power elite bsky.app/profile/laur...
it didn't even really provide me with any new information but that one email between epstein and some other random rich elite saying "when will the madness end" about the metoo movement felt like a key unlocking my brain that will explain every unforced institutional capitulation we've seen

Divine right to rule fell out of favor so...

I think it's incredibly seductive to believe in meritocracy...the only real solution is to make the meritocracy as real as possible, but when we started to, the patriarchy lost its mind and went full mask off.

Yes 100%

I'm perfectly serious when I say we should tax people and corporations to reduce excess wealth for their own good.

I entered 2025 resolved to look at the regime and explicitly tell myself "that is Babylon" and emotional detach when it came to them and their enablers, especially when it came to tech and retailers.

The Epstein emails really pushes that narrative almost to the point of parody, though

the question is relentlessly

"should this man be allowed to do crimes, for he is a Great Man or a Rich Man or a Powerful Man, whatever shall we do without him"

and not

"what lives has he destroyed, what has he robbed the world of"

or even

"who are we, if we give money/power/status to monsters"

The most successful industrialists—the ones the Luddites fought—were the ones willing to be the most brutal.

It repulsed people, even then.

The story "progress requires brutality" has been repeated endlessly since.

That's what we have to break: THE STORY

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*
