To be absolutely fair, I hate trifle more (soggy sponge and cold custard? 🤮).
I will occasionally, at a pinch, just to be gracious, have a spoonful of Xmas pudding as long as it’s accompanied by double the amount of cream, (hot) custard or brandy butter.
