Most of the Nolvus installation is downloading, extracting and installing these... 😂

After this is done, I'm gonna have to fix the 2 errors and then figure out how I am going to launch it from linux.

This is what I'm having to do for game modding. Windows 11 in a VM, interacting with the games through Shared Folders.

My efforts have moved from my display management app, and fitness app. I got the BetterDisplay dev to add it to his TODO list and I overestimated the mental need for my fitness stuff, it will also be expensive to maintain.

Trial by jury is a cornerstone of our democracy and an essential safeguard against authoritarianism.

It is truly frightening that such a fundamental freedom is now under attack.

Once rights are lost, they are not easy to win back. We must resist this with all we’ve got.

Every now and then, I give the Elder Scrolls Online a little play because I'm always interested in where everything Elder Scrolls is going.

And wow, it's far busier than it was when I played it properly.
My M4 Pro can also handle it at about 24fps at 4k max settings too without upscaling.

Time to test how good a Wired Apple Magic Keyboard does with gaming on linux. This feels like heresy of the highest order.

Huawei Mate 80 Series Debuts With Claim of 8,000-Nit Peak Brightness
Huawei Mate 80 Series Debuts With Claim of 8,000-Nit Peak Brightness
Huawei's just-announced Mate 80 lineup is attracting attention in China today thanks to a display spec that easily sees off the competition in the premium smartphone segment. The company claims the OLED panels in its latest phones can reach up to 8,000 nits of peak brightness – a figure that, if independently verified, would make the Mate 80 series the brightest smartphones on the market. Huawei says all four models – the Mate 80, Mate 80 Pro, Mate 80 Pro Max, and Mate 80 RS – achieve this peak output, while the Pro Max uses a dual-layer OLED design to push brightness more efficiently and with better thermal handling. The claim positions Huawei well ahead of Apple's latest iPhone 17 models, which top out at 3,000 nits peak outdoor brightness and 1,600 nits HDR peak. On paper, there's a yawning gap between the figures, but how they're measured is the key. Huawei hasn't said what testing conditions underlie its 8,000-nit claim, and peak brightness metrics often apply only to small portions of the display for very brief moments. By contrast, Apple says its iPhone 17 models achieve a "typical" max brightness of 1,000 nits, while the other specifications describe sustained outdoor or HDR behaviour. That making direct comparisons difficult until reviewers can test the Mate 80 displays in controlled conditions. There are also practical questions surrounding Huawei's figures. Real-world visibility isn't just about peak output – it depends on factors such as viewing angle, reflectivity, contrast, and colour accuracy. If Huawei's numbers hold up under testing, the Mate 80 series could signal another leap in smartphone display performance. For now, the claims highlight how aggressively some manufacturers are pushing OLED panel brightness as a key differentiator. Other notable specs in the Mate 80 series include high-end camera systems with variable-aperture main sensors and multiple telephoto lenses, RAM options reaching 20 GB on the top models, and large batteries up to 6,000 mAh paired with fast wired and wireless charging. The Mate 80 Pro Max starts at CNY 7,999 (about $1,127) in China, while the top-tier Mate 80 RS Master Edition comes in at CNY 11,999 (about $1,683). The prices place the highest-end models firmly in flagship territory, even before considering storage upgrades.Tags: China, Huawei This article, "Huawei Mate 80 Series Debuts With Claim of 8,000-Nit Peak Brightness" first appeared on MacRumors.com Discuss this article in our forums

In order to spend less money on things I could potentially do myself, I just tried to cut my hair myself and, it went surprisingly well besides the slight oops of trying an over-aggressive shaver guard but its hardly noticeable luckily.

Went for the uniform 1cm long near-buzz-cut.

Today I learnt that you need insanely large armies of navy and ground soldiers in order to beat the pirates and barbarians in Anno 117. I managed to take out the Roman pirate, pretty close to defeating the Celtic barbarian.

Time to make 30 units of Archers and Legionnaires and ships for transport.

Iv just spend the last 3 hours debugging why some persistence wasn't working with my website... Only to discover Astro doesn't support binding its own attributes with component declarations...

So <Navigator transition:persist /> doesn't work but putting it in the top element within Navigator does.

Been working and still working on my website. Restructured it to make it much simpler for me to maintain, no more custom optimisations tools. Im also minimising typescript to keep things snappy

Many bugs fixed, updated and minimised all external dependencies and such

Just need to update the photos
