"A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is bad until a year after release when the devs push a free update that's basically an entirely different game. Atlus games are good when they rerelease them three years after release" is not as snappy of a quote

I'd appreciate if any audio tech folks could help circulate this exciting call for a fully-funded PhD position working in multichannel audio design for galleries.

It's part of an ARC funded project 'From Noise to Signal: Improving Sonic Experiences in the Gallery'

Elon: so at a party and you want to be very popular, go uhhhh, so that is to say, your web browser, and so you type into Bing “naughty jokes for happy men”, and then ahaha you can, really quite epic, read results of what that is displayed

Rogan: that’s what’s so amazing about jokes is, you say them

being roasted by a real comedian is an act of love. these two will never understand this.

a real comedian would never presume to need a machine for plausible deniability of these thoughtless, surface-level roasts, and certainly wouldn't need one to scorch you with the inner fire of being Perceived
Everything about this might be the saddest thing I’ve ever seen

Unfollowed a further 10% of people I was still following on the Swastika Website and would have done more except that on reaching that point, as though to protest, it immediately shat the bed and stopped displaying tweets entirely. I will not miss it

Unfollowed some people because their US politics stuff traipsed lightly over a line marked "those people have sex, ew gross" which to me seems somewhat immaterial vis a vis the mass deportations and ongoing stripping of a country for its parts. You fell for it folks, hook, line and felcher

The plot trickens...
We don't know. What we do know is the wiring diagram works. We built it, virtually, in @godotengine.org. We fed it scans of the books we found.

And the books are very, very strange. The "game" that resulted is also strange.

We're hoping people can make sense of it for us.

Today is the day to tell a strange story.

The long version we'll tell later, but the short version is this. In an attic, in his late great-uncle's house, @jon.inkle.co found a locked trunk. It took twenty years to open. Last summer he did.

Inside was a wiring diagram, and a stack of books.

It's so nice working in a fully non-music-or-sound-related role for the first time in, well, probably my entire life. At last I get to keep my sound in my own sandbox pretty fucking unambiguously. Get really hyped about making music lately. Clock out, walk singing out the door. Jobs can be jobs

bennett foddy posted a deeply insightful comment on @sylviefluff.bsky.social’s games and i think it captures a lot why i found her games so reinvigorating to play.

rather than finding rules to solve problems, why not find funny interactions?

Ubisoft promises to reveal its delayed earnings no later than the end of the week.

If Ubisoft gets fully bought out it will be the third major Western publisher to be sold off in the last four years.

Or maybe someone just lost the non-GAAP adjusted spreadsheet.

Spending 3 hrs/day on the train for work lately. Learnt to sleep sitting up - great! - too tall for the seats and often wake up with my neck bent back like I'm dispensing beaucoup Pez - not so great!

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says the opposition’s new energy policy is just like the 6-7 meme, describing it as meaningless

“6-7, 6-7, it’s a big thing. 6-7, what does it mean? It means nothing, a bit like the pamphlet they’ve put out.”
