New weirdness today

Most of my day in the office i have had an ear-worm. Even found myself humming it as i walked back from canteen after lunch
Just could not place it
OK ...nothing new

Just realised after 7 hours of it, that it is the music that plays when on hold for my GP !!!!!

Help me !

New evidence on how relatively small changes to how "AI" is used could reduce its (huge!) energy use significantly:

www.ucl.ac.uk/news/2...

Our recent episode of Rare Earth on the environmental costs of data centres and "AI" is here, with a deep dive into the wider issues: www.bbc.co.uk/progra...
Practical changes could reduce AI energy demand by up to 90%
Artificial intelligence (AI) can be made more sustainable by making practical changes, such as reducing the number of decimal places used in AI models, shortening responses, and using smaller AI

Do you experience hyper-empathy to the point where it can be overwhelming and distressing?

Well, you’re not alone…
