Three years ago today we enjoyed the hospitality and beauty of Oman. Here in Muscat we enjoyed a peaceful evening.

I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

While procrastinating work on my next book I became obsessed for a day with creating a "fan edit" version of Monty Python's Meaning of Life. As an audience of one, I'm quite pleased with the results. How will I procrastinate today?

Noticing that CNN is calling Jan. 6 a “riot,” not an “insurrection.”

PSA: It was an insurrection.

Crockett: "Everyone wants to talk about how Maduro was illegitimate. As we sit here on January 6, I do want to be clear: somebody else was trying to be a Maduro of the United States. Somebody else wanted to do the exact same thing. The difference is Maduro was successful."

Isn't it odd that the United States has enough money to suddenly run Venezuela, but not enough to run our own country?

There is always cash in the piggy bank for bombs to kill people, but never for healthcare to keep them alive.

My first novel was released 10 years ago. I attempted to tell a story of horror, adventure, humor, and heart. Dreams of that major film deal and millions sold remain just that...dreams. The book, however, makes me proud. That, I feel, is enough for any author. www.amazon.com/dp/0996801405

Here, along Florida's west coast, my wife and I enjoyed a remarkable sunset. This was in 2020, just before things really locked down and I was days away from an adventure that would take me away from my home for several years. A moment of peace and reflection.

The Supreme Court, Presidency, Senate and two party system are all quite anti-democratic institutions as presently constructed.

Our institutions are not only incapable of preventing tyranny—they’re currently enabling it.

When democracy returns, we need to reform our political system.

If you are in the charming town of Ocoee, Florida, today and are interested in the works of local authors, please stop by The Ocoee Book Rack and say hello. I will be there for a few hours enjoying the day and selling some of my books. This should be a fine time.

A few years ago I had the opportunity to visit Ishak Pasha Palace in Eastern Türkiye. Here, I wandered the beautifully preserved structure and imagined the many lives lived in this extraordinary place. This was an invigorating day of discoveries.

Home Depot could implement a policy requiring ICE to present a judicial warrant before operating on its property. Businesses are fully within their rights to decide who is allowed on their premises.

So many companies are using AI “art” on their products this year. Instead of buying gifts covered in AI slop, shop small and search out actual artists and creators. Support small businesses this holiday season!!

On Sundays during the American Football season, I enjoy making a creole style jambalaya. There is much to be gained from taking your time to cook a meal.

He stood in front of the world at the UN today, and every other word out of his mouth was a lie. I’ll say it again, we’ve not been here before. An American President who lies as he breathes. It’s a terrible place to be. Shame on the media & everyone who’s normalized his lying and/or doesn’t care.

An extraordinary episode and a riveting performance that marked the arrival of a special talent. Robert Redford will be missed.
Robert Redford playing a gentle incarnation of death, coming for a frightened old woman in The Twilight Zone episode "Nothing in the Dark" (1962). An extraordinary performance then, terribly bittersweet today

Here is my New Orleans Saints coffee mug. I purchased it in 1986 on my first visit to NOLA. There, at the Superdome, I watched my beloved Saints lose to the Dolphins in an entertaining game. Every kickoff day since, I have had coffee from this mug. A nearly 40 year tradition. Who Dat!
