This doesn’t sound very good at all.
James Frey’s New Cancelled-Guy Sex Novel Is as Bad as It Sounds
With a status-obsessed comeback book, the author of the fabricated memoir “A Million Little Pieces” attempts to rebrand.

Telling my partner about this, I said “It’s like a scene from Bosch!”
“Ooh!” she replied, enthusiastically, thinking I meant the TV series with Titus Welliver.

Disclaimer: although this looks like a crap joke, it’s actually a crap thing that really happened.
This mural has gone up in Kingston, ostensibly for Christmas but AI has ensured it's actually to celebrate the return of our dark lord Cthulhu

Seven series into Letterkenny and someone’s mentioned “loonies and toonies*”. But still, nobody’s said “giv’er”. Is that a regional thing? They certainly said it in BC when I was there, and they say it in FUBAR, although I don’t remember where that’s set.

*might be twonies. Coins.

There’s a new wave of these coming, called Black/Dark/Cold Deep Water/Lake/Harbour/Tide. That’s sixteen different programmes right there.
Why are there so many dramas set on the coast where there are several different families or other social groups and a young woman or girl disappears or dies under suspicious circumstances and it’s called The Coast or The Pier or The Jetty or The Cliff or The Lighthouse or The Harbour or The Tide or

We lived in a pub when I was growing up and when I was 3 (50 years ago!) we had someone in to draw the pub for a business card. I sat next to him and watched him draw every line. I was transfixed and it was a huge inspiration for me. I’ve dreamt about owning that drawing for years…

Burnt offering. Quite satisfying to remove a bulb that’s only just died, and find that it’s been in the lamp so long, it’s of a type you can no longer buy. Nor the spiral ones neither.

Blimey, James watched a decent film for once! (Only joking – I just wanted to post something other than “OMG I love this film!” for a change. I do though.)
First watch: Wendy and Lucy, directed and (co)written by Kelly Reichardt. Sad, lyrical film about living on the margins during the financial crisis of 2008. Despite the context, it is not an "issue" film, with less in common with Ken Loach than De Sica (Bicycle Thieves and Umberto D.*). 1/2

My 1980 WHS lapel badge, to be worn on the staff issue brown jacket. I’ll wear the badge the next time I do a uni guest lecture on brands. WHS would be a great case study.
