Writer, reader, t-shirt artist (CoyoteShirts.com), radiographer, reformed politician, maker of charred meats, odd ball, usually full of piss and vinegar, a fool for you, happily punching Nazis since Castle Wolfenstein, all that and a bag of chips.
We have performed the sacrifices and appeased the Elder Gods with the proper ceremonies. We have concluded the first annual rewatching of a Charlie Brown Christmas.

Apparently the CIA director is trying to shift blame to the Biden administration when the shooter worked for the CIA while in Afghanistan and would have been a part of the vetting process that was concluded under the Trump Administration. Seriously, he worked for you. Did you not vet those people?

Remember when politicians did this regularly? As a former elected, this is what we are for. We are servants to the people we represent. They may not always be right or have a f'ing clue, but this is our job. It's about service and doing our best for them, even when they hate us for it.
Combatting poverty and hunger in this city will take every single one of us. Myself included.

Imagining Nancy Pelosi drinking wine from the bottle on the couch, shouting at the TV, "get the fuck over it ya weasel and cowboy up."

Hey, maybe he could ask his God for the strength and clarity to continue on this mission, if he knew how to pray anything but imprecatory prayers.

When I was in council for our little village, we charged businesses more for water usage than we charged residents (they used more, placed higher demand loads on the system, etc). There is no logical reason that the data centers should not bear the cost of the strain they're putting on the system.
Electric bills are up 11% this year, and shutoffs are spiking across the country.

At the same time, corporations are building hundreds of energy-hungry data centers, and working families are being forced to absorb the cost. Higher bills for us, higher profits for them. seiu.co/3M71usW
More Americans are getting their power shut off, as unpaid bills pile up
Average electricity costs have risen 11 percent since January, more than three times the rate of inflation.

I'll also add that the impropriety in this event is solely in this Dale Partridge's mind. He should think on that (and Matthew 5:28), repent, and follow Christ.

Or a little less generously, "Listen, Cotton Mather, take your misogynist ideals of society and fuck off."
A friend who teaches theology shared with me a post about CS Lewis's Mere Christianity, which discusses foundational Christian logic across denominations. It reminded me of Dale's tweet below, and I wanted to share some thoughts here regarding modesty and respectability, which are often hot topics.

Argh USB! For years I worked hard to find cables with power and data synching and had to work hard at it. Now I need a cable that is just power… and I can’t find one. Everything is “charging and data syncing, isn’t that nice?” No, just power. I just want power and no data. (Sobbing)

Unpopular opinion:
People who think the internet is "instantaneous" have never actually worked on the internet. (ugh, the lag time working with wordpress and other websites behind the scenes, it is a productivity killer.)

Okay, the simple truth is Mandani is hella popular in NYC, and that's all Trump ever really wanted to be. So Trump thinks he is joining the cool kids table not realizing the people who put him in the White House will just claw him back to the awful person he is at heart by the end of the weekend.

It is the actual goal of terrorism to have this effect. And once the governed have had enough of it, there is plenty of anger to fuel a revolution.
Bin Laden really did orchestrate the most effective attack on American soil in the nation's history. We completely wrecked ourselves in the aftermath of 9/11, planting the seeds for what's turned into an American Stasi.

CBP needs to be dismantled. DHS needs to be broken up. We need to fix this.

The U.S. Border Patrol is monitoring millions of American drivers nationwide in a secretive program to identify and detain people whose travel patterns it deems suspicious.

Remember: The oligarchs who control our economy and democracy seek to divide us so they can become more powerful.

They want us to turn on each other so we don't look up and see where all the wealth and power have gone.

Don't fall for it.

The irony is not lost on me that the most logical response to excesses and abuses of this immigration/asylum crackdown to "close the border" would most likely lead to actual "open borders" which we have never had in the modern age (say, 1985 and forward).

my wife and her entire team were fired over Zoom from their program manager jobs at a local nonprofit Seattle hospital this Spring because Trump just stopped paying Medicaid reimbursements. and this is a relatively affluent urban center

we're really not prepared for what's coming
As a direct result of President Trump's Big Ugly Bill, almost 300 jobs will be cut from Providence Swedish's First Hill, Cherry Hill, Ballard, and Issaquah hospitals and clinics. These are not the only layoffs we've seen in our health care system in Washington state in recent months.
Providence Swedish to eliminate nearly 300 positions
The cuts will affect jobs at Providence Swedish’s First Hill, Cherry Hill, Ballard and Issaquah hospitals and nearby clinics.
