Humans will NEVER colonize another planet. Never.

If we can’t even agree to do the minimum to keep Earth habitable, there’s no way in hell we’ll cooperate to make another planet habitable.

I find this image remarkable.

It's of the nucleus of comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko, photographed by the ESA Rosetta spacecraft.

That bright white plume is a jet of dust and water ice blasting from the nucleus—helping form the comet's long, dusty tail as it approaches the Sun.

The organisers of the world's biggest planetary science conference are outlawing any DEI-related submissions because their lawyers are afraid they'll lose federal support.

They're losing the support of the planetary science community fucking fast.

The vast majority of Senate interviews at pretty much any time they're under fire can be swiftly and productively translated to "Fuck you for suggesting I work"
Tim Kaine: "I don't tell Ro Khanna or AOC or anybody else who you should pick as your House leader, because I got a full time job being a senator. I don't need to freelance opinions about House leadership. They should focus on their own leadership and let senators do what we need to do."

If you need something from me, please be patient with as I work through my inbox and sort through shifted priorities/timelines.

Kaine states that being at the table led him to believe that "...the chaos of continuing the shutdown would have led them to eliminate the Senate filibuster so they could pass a government funding bill with no Democratic votes..."
If true, this is the ONLY way in which caving was the right call

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.
