Just got verbally abused at a Napier Park. We were sitting on a bench talking about a recent death in the family when a random guy rocked up. He heard our Canadian accents and asked if we supported Trump. When we said no, he lost his mind and hurled abuse. We hurried off but he kept screaming away 😱

@ninjakitty.bsky.social The only options for seniors seems to be villas which cost more than our house or subsidised housing which has massive wait lists and means you have to drain any assets. The Toronto rental is 1k per month including power.

Doing research on returns home. Can't do long haul flights but there are boat options. Will give it more time but this is the first time it's being actively researched. Never thought it would come to this. Will give it a few more years and then decide. 😔

I just received my power bill for my rented house that has a heat pump yet remains permanently cold because nobody in politics said let’s make sure we tell them to double glaze the windows too, and almost fell off my chair. The greed of NZ’s power companies continues, as does inadequate regulation 🫠
