I'm kind of in awe. I remember when the only fake train slop Facebook would give you was the photoshopped triangle train over and over. Now you can get infinite hallucinatory railway fever dreams straight from the delirious id of Timothy Potter, Trainspotter.

"I hate how YouTube is indoctrinating young children into the materialist, capitalist world of sponsorships and subscriptions and hustle culture. I wish we could go back to a more innocent past. Now to take a big sip of water and read today's rerun of 1950s Peanuts"

I'm reading your post as the Wario of this one (or maybe yours is the Mario and Stanley's is the Wario)

This is one that will be very easy for a particular demographic (pic is a spoiler)

Yeah, one of my favourite examples was when Meta's chatbots started inventing sinister project code names for itself and claiming it was invented by a "brilliant but admittedly imperfect visionary", because that's how evil AIs are created in cyberpunk fiction!

I cannot believe we're doing this. AI generated calendars that reimagine Klimt paintings as big titty DeviantArt girls

Who is the market???

YOU WATCHING CHEERS: Sometimes I want to go where everybody knows my name and they're always glad I came.
ME WATCHING CHEERS: Sometimes I want to go back to when Boston still had an extensive streetcar system

I can think of at least one company that lost over $500 bn in a few weeks

For some reason, my phone has forgotten the word "November". It just tells me the date is M11 21

Goddamn, now there's nothing I want to see more than Mary Worth's callous and narratively inept dog burial strip

50,000 have seen my terrible photo of a Turkish omelette from random small town Germany. Google Maps is beyond my comprehension

If they needed a rapper with a history of talking about the Nigerian government, Kool Keith was right there

Real ones know it's all about Sheriff Tiraspol, the biggest team in the breakaway region of Transnistria, who are a pet project of a KGB oligiarch who is defacto the absolute warlord of Transnistria. A couple of years ago they got right up to the final group stage

Finally finished! A good collection with a very nice variety of setters - a good mix of styles so there should be someone in there on your wavelength. @unchcrosswords.com

November 2022 also just happens to be the bottom of the last tech stock bear market. If you started a few months earlier, this graph would look very different.
November 18, 2025 at 3:44 PM
It's also comparing two completely different measures - one is a scale with a narrow fixed range, the other is a number with no bounds, indexed rather dishonestly to the exact lowest point of the last tech stock bear market! Just absolutely junk chart

Wait, wait, did they AI generate the island behind the Disney logo? Not even with a good image generator, but one a couple of years old where every texture is an ugly indistinct swirl?

2005 was weirdly slim-pickings - there were no albums that jumped out at me as all time favourites. If it was the year I turned 17, well, that would be another story entirely

I absolutely did not know about this album at the time, but

I sometimes wonder if editors of these classic editions get paid by the footnote. The Penguin Classics editions of HG Wells' works have some extraordinary banalities www.sparrowdove.com/2012/03/the-...
