I think about this a lot.
I've been saying soemthing similar for years. Why is it fine and dandy for me to get HRT so my menopause doesn't make me miserable, and outrageous for my trans friends to get the exact same HRT so their gender dysphoria doesn't make them miserable?

When I was working in hospitality, I kept asking to be moved to the kitchen so I wouldn't have to constantly interact with customers.
I'd get interrogated by customers any time I wore nail polish. After starting HRT, I didn't feel safe with that continuing so left the industry.
