The amazing thing about vibe coding is the speed at which it lets you switch from “this model id a genius and I’ll never code again” to “what kind of CompSci 101 stupidity is this?” and back again!

As I start the year I want to get back to blogging. My biggest question: update and use a static site like I’ve used before or move to Substack. What have been your pros and cons?

VPN advertising is the most common source of security misinformation that I encounter.

By far.

So many people misplace their trust in dubious consumer VPN products.

The industry is a scourge.

In breaking news, water is wet, the sky is blue, and owning/pwning telco infrastructure is valuable for intelligence gathering.

It's been a strategic mistake to keep our society vulnerable by fighting e2e encryption rather than embracing it and promoting democratized use of it.

This spring I’ll finish my Utah State Masters of Anticipatory Intelligence and I keep considering a doctorate, but I’m struggling to find an innovative national security program that’s open to remote students (much as I’d love to move to DC or Austin). Are there any programs I’m clearly missing?

A ton of folks are still using the old server and are going to be sad December 18th when it's shut down for good and their apps/scrips break.

Moving to TAXII 2.1/STIX 2.1 is more than just a URL change, so the time to get started is yesterday. Please help us spread the word that the end is nigh.
We’re excited to introduce our new TAXII server and the latest addition to the ATT&CK Workbench software suite: the MITRE ATT&CK Workbench TAXII 2.1 Server:

This thread is a must follow for any natsec/infosec types. It's going to be really interesting to see what comes out of this.
Chinese-flagged cargo ship Yi Peng 3 crossed both submarine cables C-Lion 1 and BSC at times matching when they broke.

She was shadowed by Danish navy for a while during night and is now in Danish Straits leaving Baltics.

No signs of boarding. AIS-caveats apply.
