Chronic lurker, people at work message and ask me for ‘a hammer and sickle chat’ when they want to check something or get info on our policy. I’m in a union, byline times subscriber for years, my social media is very angry politics and some hobbies.

If the Brexit years really were behind us, Reform would no longer be a threat, there’d be no talk of leaving the ECHR, no Brexit peerages or whining about ‘Brexit betrayal’.
Instead, there’d be accountability and an electoral price to pay for the damage done. A ruthless reality check. No prisoners.

An outdated and undemocratic institution, built on nepotism and privilege, that dodges the transparency that should be required of all those in power.

If you're not taking these two criteria seriously and you're still campaigning for votes for an anti-trans party?

Then you're voting for anti-trans parliamentary votes in the Scottish Parliament this year. Own it.

There's an astonishing cruelty in trying to make the world even more hostile for trans kids by suing schools that want to include them. But that's where 'gender critical' Britain is.

We're acting for a school that is being sued - and we could really use your help with funding.

No one who has seen the Epstein case unfold should have any doubt left about why victims don’t report. When reporting means facing more abuse, more exploitation, and more betrayal at the institutional level, while the perpetrators are the leaders of the very systems of “justice” supposed to help you

They claim they’re putting personal ambition aside and defecting to Reform to help fix the country.
To stop that pisstaking farce, they should be made to hold by-elections in their constituencies and let the voters decide if that’s ok with them. Please sign.

If Labour won’t nationalise water, their “big overhaul” is a con.

Sewage in our rivers. Bills going up. Profits protected.

It's not a foolproof plan but every political debate from now on should be a Normal Guy competition. Ask them to describe grocery shopping in detail. Talk about what it's like to have a friend

In the 6th largest economy, 103000 people died in poverty in 2024.

120,000 died in fuel poverty, couldn't afford adequate heating.

Ethnic minorities, pensioners, single working age adults more likely to die in poverty.

Poverty and death sentence is a political choice as govts appease the rich.

It’s coming back to @veganuary.bsky.social again, time for my very unskilled culinary attempts to make vegan food that my allergies and pathetic pallet can handle! (Oats, egg replacer, peanut butter, salt, spring onions, cherry tomato’s, vegan cheese very sparingly)

look, the human death toll from road traffic accidents is an awful lot higher than the murder rate, but that doesn't mean we should just let people kill each other
At its peak legal fox hunting killed 25k foxes pa. The fox population in the UK is 400k. Annually cars kill 100,000 foxes in the UK.

If people want to help foxes, banning trail hunting isn't it.

If any of the Palestine Action detainees die on hunger strike it will be an international news story & something that will stain the legacy of a fair number of the Starmer cabinet, including him, for the rest of their days

Anyone denying that is simply detached from the reality of how big that'd be

I'm revising a paper that was rejected a while ago, and I forgot about this cursed comment from the one reviewer who sank my piece (the other 2 reviews recommended R&R btw).

This reviewer had other reasons to reject, but frankly, I'm still shocked the editors took this person seriously.

It's telling that the language that the political centre are using about Zack Polanski and his policies are *much* stronger than they've used for Nigel Farage or in relation to any of his policies.

Despite, as we know from a *lot* of polling, the fact that Green policies are not very divisive.

It would be good if this got even a fraction of the coverage devoted to the endless debate about boats, flags and Turkish barber shops
