Still one of Carpenter's best.
Highly stylized and moody, politically evocative, unexpectedly provocative, with at its core great character writing. Also a major influence on both action filmmaking and video game design.

DOOM 64 is quite overlooked when it comes to atmosphere. Surviving through maze-like levels with industrial/gothic aesthetic and liminal vibes, without any explicit narrative context, while Hodges' ambient soundtrack plays in the background, is an amazingly haunting, bleak and unsettling experience.

Postmodernism mixed with existentialism, psychological horror tackling sensitive themes, nerve-wracking action and bizarre humour, humanist game design and storytelling... I guess these four say a lot about myself.

Keiichiro Toyama's return to creative direction and storytelling—Slitterhead—is undoubtedly clunky, rough and underproduced, but its creativity and artistic audacity feel fucking good; innovative action mechanics, wild body horror imagery, wacky narrative, bombastic soundtrack... It's all I needed!
