Finally got the custom weather covers delivered for my terrace furniture. I tried using the cheaper generic-sized ones Ikea sold but not only did they not fit but they leaked badly after a few uses.

Well I'll be damned, they do have sliders. I guess I never rode the new equipment enough times to notice, though for some reason it feels...extremely apt? The some of the regional transit fleets were a real hodgepodge for a long time after Katrina sank a lot of it.

Can you stick some money on the side and get yourself a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply)? The cheapest decent ones are usually less than $200 and have enough juice in them to let you save and shut down safely in the event of an outage. Bigger/pricier ones can even let you keep working for a bit

It was the smaller guy here. Daz was originally much closer to "twink" on the "twunk" spectrum so I used to crop the bigger guy out. Actually Daz was originally created as a fraternal twin and I used the bigger guy in this picture for his (much larger) brother.

US Cities and other government agencies have the opportunity to do the funniest thing which is to start hosting formal retirement ceremonies in public where flags no longer fit to be flown are retired under the guidelines put forth in the Flag Code. Dress up, give a speech, whatever.

Currently doing the work of handwriting a rather lengthy letter that I'd really rather not have had to write at all but political realities and mental health have had to dictate my actions.

New apt is almost fully settled-into. Still have to sort out where everything goes in the kitchen & source furniture for spaces I've never had before, but today I finished setting up my 20yr old tv on its custom-built mount I designed for the built-in of my old unit & it fits the one in the new one!
