Superheroes need supervillains, otherwise they spend valuable adventure time righting societal wrongs, cleaning up the environment and tossing greedy rich people into orbit. One of the supermenaces in Wonder Heroes 4.0 by Steve Ahlquist was the Neboukichan, a kaiju summoned up by a doomsday cult.

Thanks so much to everyone who's donated or shared. I've got whole strata of stress, supporting two ailing parents, a dog, credit card debt, and overdue taxes, and your kindness is like a drill breaking through it.

I hope we can reach $20,000, and I'm grateful to you for having that hope.
My family's dealing with a whole lot right now, with my mother's dementia and my father's cancer both in late stages, an elderly dog, and mounting debt. Anything you can spare would mean the world, and even sharing helps!

Susan is the protagonist of Wonder Heroes 4.0 by Steve Ahlquist. (I’ve been calling it Wonder Heroes 2.0. I just checked the copy of the manuscript on my hard drive. Ooops.) Doesn’t she look cool in her Wonder Armor?

Say yes.

Steve Ahlquist wrote Wonder Heroes 2.0 for JukePopSerials.com. I was brought in to come up with visuals that could be used to sell/license the IP. JukePop were the ones approving my stuff. Below are some of the rejected costume designs. #steveahlquist #superheroes #costumes #illustration

This illustration is the online thumbnail for Wonder Heroes 2.0, a novel Steve Ahlquist wrote for the defunct site JukePopSerials.com. JukePop is gone and so Wonder Heroes is offline. Bummer. These days Steve reports independently on Rhode Island news. substack.com/@steveahlquist

For most folks, the symbols are enough to make them turn back. For a special few they are an enticement to saunter onward.

The fact that the Heap was born from the body of Baron Eric von Emmelman, a WW1 fighter pilot, makes little difference in most of the original stories. He could just as well have been born from the body of Vladmir the plumber or Olga the shopkeeper. #theheap #swampmonster #somedaycomic

Capitalism is the best!
Just so I'm clear on this, computer memory has tripled in price because a bunch of it that hasn't been produced yet has been ordered to populate GPUs that aren't installed in data centers that aren't built yet in order to service a demand that doesn't exist to make profits that don't happen.

I've gotten a lot "commission requests" from Artstation. And Tumblr. I've got a website. I haven't put anything on Artstation in probably ten years.
Looks like every interaction on artstation comes from spambots.

this field biologist does a great job highlighting the insidiousness of AI editing

these one-click AI edit buttons are incredibly appealing to many photographers, amateurs and professionals alike, and are framed as innocuous

this is worth sharing and educating people about

My cover illustration for the 2010 3Hombres edition of Dark Conspiracy. For once I remembered to leave room at the top of the piece for the title text.

In good times, we need each other. In bad times, we need each other. All of us. Yeah, even those assholes who can only think of themselves. They’ve good for target practice.

It’s just another day in the apocalyptic dystopia. The rats howl at the dawn. The sunlight comes down in oily rainbow colors through the toxins in the air. Mutants get up to hunt the genetically stable. The genetically stable try to keep hold of their sanity and their weapons. What a lovely day!

Reviews.

Reviews are free AND they are a gift to authors that can keep on giving (i.e., exposure, marketing, algo boosts, etc.)

Please, give the gift of reviews to your authors this holiday season. It really can make a difference!

When we wake up from the fantasy that rich people got that way because of their merits?
When will Americans purge the politicians who are only in it for profit?
