If LLMs have unreliable opinions and are easily manipulated then that suggests we are pretty close to human level intelligence

It depends where you live. In my area delivery drivers just open your front door and put the parcel inside.

Is this an advert?

I am genuinely fascinated by those events. I couldn’t have predicted them at all. I can’t quite get my head round where the passionate opposition comes from

I like how once the pile-on people get bored it descends into a polite and interesting conversation

This is a great list, but half of the items are stuff we should have been doing anyway. It’s ironic that we are finally putting significant effort into DX in order to make AI’s job easier

I agree, but I'm not entirely sure that if they did, things would significantly improve. It's not like we had a wide range of choices at the last election.

We didn’t vote for 2 of the last 4. And May was appointed unopposed, though she did go on to win an election (just)

That’s why it’s so weird that it makes people SO angry. If you say “LLMs have some uses” people completely lose their shit
November 26, 2025 at 6:47 PM
The argument of we AI cultists is "AI isn't entirely evil and could probably be used for the some things it is good at, if you want to"
November 26, 2025 at 6:21 PM
Ironically your comment here is just "repurposed slop", with no attempt to refine, improve or expand on the opinions you have stolen from other people. You literally could be an AI yourself

Who was talking about making a living?
November 26, 2025 at 5:16 PM
I was actually thinking of open source software developers and amateur artists/writers. But I’d be willing to bet that the vast majority of “creatives” are in work-for-hire arrangements as well. A tiny, tiny percentage of artists are making a living from selling it with royalties

Software has a fairly open culture of “stealing” from each other. Literature and Art have a culture of trying to hide the fact that we are all just repeating what we have seen before with slight modifications. Only when you become as successful as Picasso can they start to be honest about that

Best one I’ve seen in 10 years

It’s been a weird promotion on their part because it has thoroughly convinced me I don’t like that way of using it.

I was lucky enough to have a rock nightclub with very lax age checks near me as a young teenager. Headbanging to “fuck you I won’t do what you tell me” is one of my most formative experiences

Why waste Optimus on prisoners? Anyone who disagrees with the president could have their own robot to follow them and make sure they don’t do anything naughty
November 12, 2025 at 7:16 AM
I think I remember this one. Wasn’t there a big Bertie Bassett type creature in it? At least that’s what 9 year old me remembered of it

I have never been able to work out which way is East or West, without saying “never eat Shredded Wheat”. (But North and South are intuitive to me)

That does sound like most of the GPs I’ve ever been to. “Not sure what it is but if it’s not better in a few weeks, make another appointment”
