Often when someone says a genre is dying, they really mean that it’s not being spoon fed to them as popular music. Folks who care about a music genre are always able to find new music to listen to.

I know my tolerance is shit cause I've had a little over half a 70cl of Captain Morgan's + about 20ml of alcohol and I am categorically drunk.
Not like super fucked, but *drunk* and on this much alcohol for me, that's a bad showing

I flatly reject this. Not the historical bit, I don't know about that, but the idea that it's hard to usually cook for yourself when you have a job. I've never had this problem in any job. There are plenty of really simple meals you can make yourself in no time, ready made meals exist as well
I see grocery/takeout shaming discourse going around again, so this is your periodic historian reminder that cooking from scratch daily while working has never been sustainable, and for millennia everyone either relied on takeout & restaurants or ate in huge households w/ big dorm-like group dining.
