Digging through the archives. A glorious dahlia shot in the summer. I can almost feel the warmth of the sun. The bulbs are shooting up now - spring is around the corner.

🚨 BREAKING 🚨
The UK Govt has quietly published - without announcement - the Joint Intelligence Committee/DEFRA report it suppressed last October. They tried to sneak it out in the midst of crisis. Read and share:

“Global Biodiversity Loss, Ecosystem Collapse & National Security.”

My first #BirdOfTheDay entry, for today’s theme of #ShortBeaks: this redpoll, sporting a short-but-mighty beak. I never hesitate to dole out props for these tough little birds, who come to Manitoba to spend the winter. #birds

Went kite flying at the weekend. Nearly stayed home because it was -4 C outside.

The wind was perfect, the view went on forever and I came home lighter than I went out.

There’s no moral to this story, just go and fly a kite. You’ll thank me later.😉

I'm going to give this Great Horned Owl the benefit of the doubt and say that he was sitting on a muskrat in an effort to keep it warm. I'm probably being a bit more generous than he deserves. #wildlife #birds #owls

Light rain falls as a western #bluebird (Sialia mexicana) perches on a sapling along a country road in rural SW #Oregon. Unlike many songbirds, the species often hunts insects by dropping to the ground from a perch, rather than catching them in midair #birds #wildlifephotography #photography

Shot at a preserved railway in Northumberland a few years ago. I love the textures of the paint and metal.

A glimpse of summers past. Flowers are great, but I find something deeply appealing in the shape and form of their leaves.

'Flower Fox' ~ Wooden spoon carved in Maple and Macadamia woods.

This piece was carved from leftover wood from other projects and that was the main influence on the design.
