There’s a Tiktok about Paddle courts being built on a part of the central Takapuna carpark. I was so very wrong that we were getting over the addiction to that bloody carpark, the comments are flooded with angry NIMBY’s moaning about carparking 🥴 It never ends 😭 What happened to the apartment plans?

since the "google is now training gemini on your email contents" thing keeps bumping around here: it's _not happening_. I say this not to defend google but because I know a lot of people that have broken their filtering and made their lives much more annoying from sheer misinformation.

Am I in the minority that think if an 18/19 year old needs to go onto an unemployed benefit because they can't get a job (because there are none) and NOT study, that is OK? Forcing someone into thousands of dollars of debt because "they can't just sit around" is weird imo & no guarantee of a job too

In NZ, we prefer salaried corruption with a topping of conflict of interests and performance bonuses; the main focus is ensuring that wealth and abuse are kept within the right circles.
At what point do we publicly accept that NZ is deeply corrupt and the only reason why we don’t have a culture of direct payoffs and bribery (that we cite as the evidence for us not being corrupt) is because it’s not needed? The boys club gets what it wants through people playing their social roles.

My son had an appointment today at Starship, been several months since we’ve visted. Can definitely tell they’ve cut the cleaning staff because my sons feet after running down a corridor were black 🥴🤢 Could visibly see the floors weren’t clean and a kids play area hadn’t been cleaned. Disgusting
