Things that interest me: most sports - I'm big into fantasy football, college basketball, Cubs baseball, and Michigan football/bball, lefty politics, music - all variations of rock and Americana, movies & TV, anything that distracts from the hellscape
Their games with Indiana pre-Cignetti were usually barn-burners, but mostly because both teams sucked.

I remember watching Taulia Tagovailoa throwing for 400+ against the Hoosiers in 2021

Kuzdal has looked really good today

Literally 3 different moments where it would've been a good idea
November 22, 2025 at 10:34 PM
I'd be shocked if they finish higher than 3rd in the division
November 21, 2025 at 3:28 PM
They haven't played anyone who would be in the playoffs if the season ended today.

They're 0-2 in games against teams that are currently .500 or better with losses by 31 and 14 points (one vs backup QB)

They're 5-0 against teams that have 3 wins or fewer, but won 4 of those games by 5 pts or less.

I never said they were - I said their defense was. They're certainly executing better in late game situations and culture seems better, but when you look closer at who they're beating and how they're doing it, the record looks more like a mirage.

"The power of what he's created"

He basically turned a big tariff dial that raised the prices on this stuff, and now he turning that dial the other way.

They'll likely only be favored in 2 more games the rest of the way.

They're favored by 2.5 this week against Pittsburgh, and they should be favored against Cleveland

They might end up reminiscent of the 2007 Lions that started 6-2 and ended 7-9. I doubt the Bears will follow it up with 0-16 though
November 20, 2025 at 9:17 PM
They've played 2 teams that are currently .500 or better - they lost those games by 31 and 14 points.

They're 5-0 against teams with 3 wins or fewer (Raiders, Saints, Bengals, Giants, Commanders), and 4 of those wins were by 5 points or less.
November 20, 2025 at 9:13 PM
I agree the culture is better, and they *seem* better, but the numbers get really alarming when you look closer at *who* they've been playing and beating.

They haven't played a single team that would be in the playoffs if the season ended today
November 20, 2025 at 9:12 PM
Make it 5-0 against teams with 2-3 wins
November 20, 2025 at 9:01 PM
Fortunate scheduling. They've played 5 games against teams that have 2 or 3 wins so far this year. They're 5-0 in those games, and won 4 of them by less than a TD.

They haven't played anyone who'd be in the playoffs if the season ended right now, and they're 2-3 against teams with 4, 5, or 6 wins
November 20, 2025 at 9:01 PM
It's uglier than I thought...they're 4-0 against teams with 3 or fewer wins, and 2-3 against teams with 4,5 or 6 wins.

They haven't played anyone with more than 6 wins.
November 20, 2025 at 8:59 PM
They've been executing well late in games and winning the close ones, but yeah - the schedule was much easier in the front half. Detroit is the only team they've played that's currently over .500, and the Lions beat them by 31 points.

6 of their final 7 opponents are currently over .500
November 20, 2025 at 8:53 PM
Their offense has been better, but their defense has been worse.

If you erase the 52 points they allowed to Detroit, they've STILL allowed 25 more points this season than they did through 10 games last year - and Detroit is the only team they've played this year that's over .500
November 20, 2025 at 8:51 PM
You never miss an opportunity to use Heathcliff Slocumb. I managed to squeeze in a couple former Cubs that I don't use often enough.
November 20, 2025 at 8:40 PM
Why would I take out my favorite Bears' game of the season though?
November 20, 2025 at 8:37 PM
11 of the 13 wins were by 8 points or less

4 losses were by 17, 37, 11, and 24
November 20, 2025 at 8:36 PM
Point differential is just a piece of data. It's not the whole puzzle.

A bad point differential for your record just means you're winning close games and getting blown out when you lose.

The 2022 Vikings are the most extreme example. -3 point differential and a 13-4 record.
November 20, 2025 at 8:36 PM
Nothing will ever top the 2022 Vikings though
November 20, 2025 at 8:32 PM
The Bears are 7-3 with a negative-6 point differential
