LGBTQIA minors make up 40% of the endangered minor runaway population. They are 120% more likely to be unhoused. They are also uniquely at risk for exploitation and trafficking.

This is breathtakingly evil.
New — The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) was told this week by DOJ that they'd lose their funding if the org didn't remove any mentions of LGBTQIA+ issues from their public materials, I've learned. Staff were told they need to deadname trans kids in their reports to comply.

If the Dems had any sense, they'd be all over things like this. Instead, they have Chuck Schumer standing in a grocery store, looking like he shit himself, and Tim Kaine making a fucking hoagie on IG live or whatever.
Trump and the GOP are trying to repeal a Biden admin rule that requires lead water pipes to be replaced.

Tens of millions of people, including children, would continue to have contaminated drinking water if the rules are revoked.

So the GOP is the party of lead poisoning now?
Republicans move to repeal lead limits imposed by Biden-era rules
US government would be prohibited from ever mandating lead pipe replacement or lowering lead limits in water

Probably nothing important happening in DC that he should be focused on.

Side note, he forever looks like he just shit his pants.

Today in Milan, a student activist group hung a trash-filled effigy of Musk upside down on a gate outside of piazzale Loreto, where Mussolini's body was displayed in 1945.
They left the message: "C'è sempre posto a piazzale Loreto, Elon" (There's always room in piazzale Loreto, Elon)

Mutual aid is not just a disaster response, it’s a way of caring for one another, building stronger communities, and preparing for whatever life may throw at us next. It’s a labor of love—and a way of life.

I put together a reading list (and words of advice) for LitHub: lithub.com/we-only-have...
We Only Have Ourselves: The How-Tos and DOs and DON’Ts of Mutual Aid
For all of humanity’s many, many flaws, one of our most redeeming characteristics as a species is an almost-universal desire to connect with one another. When terrible things happen and communities…

AG nom Pam Bondi...

-Didn't investigate Trump University for fraud as Florida AG after receiving a $25k donation from a Trump nonprofit

-Served as lobbyist for massive corporations

-Was part of Trump's impeachment defense team

She's a walking, talking conflict of interest.

A shocking image. Raised on the Canadian prairies, I never understood back then how the replacement of the complex grassy ecosystem with agriculture was equally an environmental disaster.
This was once Amazon rainforest.

How a living planet is killed: ancient ecosystems of incalculable diversity turned into sterile monocultures, stretching to the horizon.

the thing you have to understand is that the thing where Trump would call news outlets as “John Barron” and be deeply embarrassing and cringe? And everybody cringed, and was deeply embarrassed? Musk thought that was v cool and worth emulating

I've never experienced a snowstorm that has come in as fast as this one did. In addition to the speed of the storm and wind, the snow was mixed with graupel. Wild stuff.

The police work for billionaires.

They’ll attack a strike, they’ll arrest protesters, and they’ll devote themselves to making CEOs feel safe.

Not only do cops defund our cities, they work overtime to stop us from building a better world.

This lends further proof to my theory that you can slap his name and/or image on *anything*, and these people will eat it up. If only my ethics allowed, I would have cashed in on the idea years ago with some questionably sourced, and hopefully harmful, products.

It had probably been something like 2-3 years since I last used Twitter, and I deleted my account without giving any thought to who I followed. Now, I'm sitting here like, "Shit, I need to remember who I followed".

Hooray for lack of forethought!
