I bought this umbrella in Japan in 1994 for the equivalent of ~$30CAD. It’s far from bespoke, but it’s certainly outlasted any of the collapsibles I’ve bought in the decades since.

“hot dogs on the floor” is a fantastic metaphor and made me think of this
Imagine a domed, transparent jello mold salad with paprika-sprinkled halved boiled eggs, yolks out, around the wide bottom; pickle ‘coins’ and green onions pieces and chopped hot dog pieces crowding the top; and hot dogs curved and um upright at measured intervals around the entire structure. It rests uneasily on a clear glass plate, so as not to detract, which is itself atop a yellowish square-tiled countertop.
