Morning has come again. Wet and chilly and gray today, but the birds don't care. They keep singing. I'm going to keep singing, too. Let's do this.

Folks, the news is not great. It pretty much sucks all around. BUT WE ARE STILL HERE. You made it to this evening. I saw a baby rabbit hanging out under a rhubarb leaf the whole time my class of 2-5 year olds was having lunch and playing about 20 feet away. We made it through another day.

I know this was created by the CIA but it's worth reading: the Simple Sabotage Field Manual. (It was written by the CIA back when the US was fighting Nazis.) It is, unfortunately, a PDF that's basically a photo of text, if there's alt-text somewhere I don't know where.

Those words, diverse and creative? Not an accident.

This isn’t about mass street protests, necessarily. Those aren’t safe now, not when they’ve got the army on their side. No pink hats, kids.

Time to level up and get smarter.

Here’s a reading list for you:

Some of us are not able to focus on non-fiction right now. What are the fiction books that you recommend as political education? Parable of the Sower comes to mind. 💙📚

On Friday, I heard @cathywurzer.bsky.social interviewing one of the organizers of a march this weekend, and she said something to the effect of "Trump won by a wide margin" and I was appalled. HE DIDN'T. He won by a smaller margin than he lost by in the last election. www.pbs.org/newshour/pol...

Books read so far this year: Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, Kelly Braffet's The Broken Tower, This is How you Lose the Time War, Bitter Medicine... Nice variety so far, but my brain still won't let me read non-fiction. 📚💙
