It's not like you RolePlay in RPGs to begin with.

Genre's fucked, start over.

I dream of new games, not of ones I've already finished.

Okay I'll bite hit me with a cool doorknob improvement

I've visited public bathrooms that have a knob you can pull with your foot when you're done washing your hands, I like that niche of knob technology

Every AI person I've ever spoken to has been the cream of the crop of the worst Ideas you could think of. Just pure uninspired garbage, often which is an idea that already exists elsewhere (and has for decades).

They're the kind of people who think the doorknob needs innovating.

I don't know TOO much about Monolith but that sounds like a bloated Quest Log and heavy reliance on fast traveling back and forth repeatedly to talk to single NPCs to me

Stop, you're gonna convince me to subscribe just so I can hit the unsub.
December 17, 2025 at 6:52 PM
I tend to unfollow people who post like that. It's not interesting or fun and reading it doesn't help "the cause" whatsoever.
December 17, 2025 at 5:56 PM
Maybe if we remaster another game the new one will come out faster
December 17, 2025 at 3:13 PM
It doesn't require a single atom of fucking effort to "fight this battle".

I just don't use anything that has AI in it lmao

I'm literally winning and enraging AI-heads by *doing nothing*

pwned

I usually wait until the indie games I buy are done glutting their finished product with extra DLC before I buy it, to see if I still like the end result. So my backlog on any given year is mainly working through games that "released" 3-4 years ago.

It immediately tells me the writing is probably ass, too.

The corps found an easy target to convince every person on the planet to take detailed uploads of their face directly tied to their browsing habits so they can obliterate your bank account and legal standing if you don't buy the correct products

I beat Ornstein and Smough with the help of player summons. Zero shame as it is one of my best gaming memories.

Someday I should do a replay and go get summoned for other people

I specifically take care to only use the word "content" when describing the checklist of stuff that fills the average openworld videogame.
December 16, 2025 at 2:55 PM
and into the nostalgia ouroboros it goes...
December 15, 2025 at 9:38 PM
this is a modern fairy-world story, so the names only belong to the original.
December 15, 2025 at 5:45 PM
I've had this idea the entire time. Logistically speaking it's much more reasonable to flash a copy of someone's mind than it is to somehow keep a bunch of comatose bodies alive inside what's implied to be an abandoned software lab.

And they lose their names because (cont)

As an Ascended Ideas Guy (I learned how to actually do work) I actually do often wish I could skip to the finished product considering I've been devving the same game for 6 years.

Problem is the shortcuts suck ass.

And the Ideas Guys who use those shortcuts have fucking rancid ideas.
December 15, 2025 at 2:27 PM
I don't want to live in a world where Kirby Air Ride needs fucking content updates.

I played the first one for a decade+ and even now and then occasionally up to within the last year.

I can do the same with this one. It's got way more stuff in it. It'll last longer.

give us back puzzle dungeons for wild success
December 15, 2025 at 2:23 PM
It's insane that Nintendo decided their new brand needed to be scrubbing this out of their next console and the Switch has absolutely nothing in its menu instead
December 14, 2025 at 2:45 PM
The fact that the series has been planned to have a set number of episodes made my confidence in it skyrocket. I am now patiently sat on the ride.
December 13, 2025 at 7:05 PM
Correct, the miniboss I'm working on needed a gloat phase after one of its attacks for better flow, so I had to make one in about 60 seconds so I could get back to work while I was on a roll programming.

Using genAI would genuinely probably have taken longer than this did.
