Seriously. Stop whatever you're doing and go draw a horse. I guarantee you, it's worth it. I was so proud of my misshapen equine. It was a profoundly human experience.

Go draw your fucking horse.

I appreciate, as someone who does not sportsball, that my feed here has been entirely about the halftime show. I still don't even know who won. Which will be amusing when I inevitably am clueless in meetings with colleagues tomorrow morning.

Halfway decent sale on @alaskaairlines.bsky.social today, ending tomorrow. For those of us who are finding it harder and harder to fly nowadays due to the Atmos changes 🙃 #alaskasky

I just need to take a moment to thank the person (now lost to the sands of internet time) who referred to AI prompt engineers as "sloperators". I employ this term regularly and enthusiastically.

Welp, that's it. If this is Mozilla's vision of the future, I'm opting out.

What are your favorite browsers these days, fam? Bonus for someone who knows the difference between saying you have five guiding principles and enumerating just three.
The future of AI isn’t inevitable.
It’s a choice we should all have a say in making.

Bovino is a symptom. The disease rages on. If the Dems want to exist as a relevancy, they need to perform the necessary surgery while surgical intervention is still an option.

Remember, we don't refer to the DHS as Proud Boys because in this house we do not deadname.

Yo, Dems, we need to be very onboard with the idea that Newsom absolutely cannot win the Dem nominee in 2028. Because fuck this dipshit in his smirking smirk.

If people wonder why I'm so vehemently against Spotify and adamantly supportive of Bandcamp, THIS IS WHY.

I know it's a bit late for New Year Resolutions, but this year I've decided that I'm not going to eat anything unless someone has scraped a knife across it to prove that it's *cuisine*.

I found an electronics surplus store today and it made me nostalgic for what life was like in the Bay Area long ago, when places like All Tech, Haltek and Halted were vibrant communities of nerds and artsy weirdos. We chatted with the owner about his pulsed-MIG microsculptures, because of course.

According to my Facebook feed, fully half the residents of this country are certified forensic ballistics experts.

I hate this timeline, and would like to get off now plz.

Based on the ads in my feed, Instagram is convinced I want two things:

1) an AI girlfriend
2) cooking pans

I need neither of these, but if someone wanted to give me some new pans, I wouldn't say no.

OTOH, if someone tried to give me an AI girlfriend, I'd kill them with a rake.

TRON Ares was bad.

Also, the NIN soundtrack, while excellent to listen to with headphones in a dark room, was surprisingly bland within the context of the film.

Anyways, at this point, I'm glad Disney intends to abandon the franchise. If that's their idea of a TRON movie, we don't need any more.

I only regret that I had but one Disney+ subscription to cancel.

Spent my morning with one cat on my lap. Now spending the afternoon with the other on my lap. Almost everything else in the world sucks right now, but this bit, with these two cuddly bozos, is okay.

We have this conversation every year when people start posting their Wrapped stats, so let's roll it out again.

Fuuuuuuck Spotify.

They're bad for artists and bad for audiences. I understand it's convenient, but at some point convenience needs to be outweighed by morality.
also, Spotify doesn't pay royalties at all for tracks with less than a thousand streams.

and sometimes if an album gets a sudden surge of fan interest, Spotify deems it "unusual listening activity" and just removes the album, as happened to my last EP.
Spotify has laid off thousands in recent years, while reportedly paying artists $0.003 per stream.

Spotify profits rose 28% in Q3. Its CEO is worth $9.8 billion. It's making money off ICE recruitment ads.

Don't you think it's time put a wrap on corporate greed and exploitation?

Based on my statistical analysis over the past few years, I've come to the conclusion that there's a Portland law requiring music venues have a badass pink-haired femme on staff who exists to make sure shit gets done, the patrons are happy, and nobody steps out of line.
