National Guard officers should not be in DC, but since they are, my question is why are they being put in such dangerous, open assignments? They should be able to assist law enforcement in ways that don't place them out on the streets without patrol training and experience.

The Governor of West Virginia apparently incorrectly announced the death of the two guardsmen. Now the word is they are hospitalized in critical condition.
Uhhh, seems like the sort of thing you should make absolutely sure of before announcing!
