This is i think the 3rd time i have had to turn off the AI "features" in Gmail. It's aggravating, yes because no means no, and also because when they assume "yes" they steal all your data before you have a chance to say NO again. Gross people and it makes you wonder about their other relationships.

A bit of digression, but changing icon colors is definitely ordered from on high. Some powerless dev is doing it, but it's on the infallible directive of a very senior PM at least, and very likely some "head of" of "C" somebody. Someone with an MBA and a company tablet instead of a laptop.

I've had Gmail since I was a teen when it first arrived, I am way too online and a software professional. I still get frustrated when I can't figure out which button I want in Gmail. Which still happens, a decade later.

Ahh but Microsoft is shipping Enterprise level software that's 30% generated, you say? Well, good thing MS can rely on their sterling reputation for shipping software that is reliable and never screwing over their clients. Otherwise I would be concerned.

LLMs can write lots of code really fast! But it's not good code. It's hard to read, and it's full of bugs and security vulnerabilities.
Code is easy to write and hard to read. It takes a senior dev longer to fix vibe code than just writing it in the first place.
