Getting into games was a lot easier back then. You knew someone and if they liked you and thought you were competent they employed you. Or you sent in a resume and waited to hear back.

The hiring system now is such a mire of resume keyword optimization.

My first short stories were written on an electric typewriter that my mother kindly bought me when she realized I was writing all the time. I do not miss those days (though I do love my mother for doing that for me).

I was an early adopter of paleo, thinking it could help my thyroid levels. It did not, and I got to watch firsthand as the community began its decent into leaky gut candida overgrowth ADREEEENALS anti-vaccination nonsense.

The worst though was when I’d be running an event and also keeping my ear to the private channels and some horny MFers would decide right then to starting talking about their bulges and wet hot crevices and JFC the spelling and grammar was SO BAD.
