Stonewall riots were literally against the laws that banned "wearing clothes of opposite-gender" and the raids by police where they "verify the sex" of patrons. How can you even attempt to erase trans people from that history?

It's just like when Republicans lie about voter ID. We can't get a drivers license or state ID without multiple forms of ID, and we can't register to vote without state IDs or driver's licenses.

When it comes to conservative politics, even when attempting to hold it accountable to its own precedents, we must not ever expect any consistency.

There is a logic to these actions, but it is a reactionary, punitive logic. The logic states that we are lesser, and must always be put in our place.

Telling a trans man he is "female" and must use the women's restroom, then attacking him for doing so is a mirror of the 'logic' applied to arrest a trans woman for being topless and then put her in a men's prison.

Our sex can be whatever is most rhetorically convenient for cis people to punish.

The kind of people who get mad at somebody they read as male in the women's loos isn't going to back down because the person concerned explains that they're actually transmasc. They quite probably won't even understand the explanation.

We also see this when a GNC cis woman is harassed by bigots who have mistaken her for trans women and other bigots concoct excuses for why she brought it on herself. The point isn't to protect cis women, it's to punish transness and gender nonconformity.
