The House passed a bill to expand paid parental leave for state employee to 12 weeks.

H. 3645 is important pro-family legislation — but a few extremists tried to kill the bill at the last minute.

Trump’s tariffs are hurting South Carolina.

Projects like BMW’s plant in the Upstate create thousands of jobs and invest billions of dollars — but one of Trump’s top advisors said this “doesn’t work for America.”

Reps. Wendell Jones, Chandra Dillard & Hamilton Grant set the record straight ➡️

We’re excited to welcome Rep. Courtney Waters to the South Carolina House of Representatives! Stay tuned tomorrow as she joins us in the fight to protect diversity, equity, and inclusion.

It’s a sad day in South Carolina as we debate H. 3927.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion are American values. We oppose this bill because it seeks to sow division at a time when we need unity.

Tonight the House passed a state budget that funds the core functions of government — and thanks to our efforts, it does not include the anti-diversity, equity, and inclusion proviso!

We just passed H. 3497 to reform our liquor liability laws, bring down high insurance premiums, and save restaurants and small businesses in South Carolina.

The House voted unanimously to send this bill to the Senate. Watch Rep. Roger Kirby explain what this means for our state:

We don’t know what will happen next, but we will keep you updated as soon as we know more.

The bill had a hearing on Tuesday, March 4. The good news is that we did not vote on it, so it is still pending in the subcommittee.

Thank you to everyone who showed up to support protecting women’s freedom in South Carolina, especially to the women who shared heart-wrenching personal stories and the medical professionals who shared their expertise.

Let’s talk about H. 3457, the extreme abortion ban that would take away exceptions for rape and incest.
March 6, 2025 at 1:17 AM
This extreme abortion ban bill is wrong for South Carolina.

Watch Rep. Spencer Wetmore and Rep. Justin Bamberg’s reaction to today’s House subcommittee meeting on H. 3457.

We believe that public money belongs in public schools. Just last year, the state Supreme Court agreed with us, ruling that vouchers are unconstitutional. This fight will soon go back to the Court and we hope that it will again protect the 750,000 students who rely on public education in our state.

Democrats opposed S. 62 and fought to change its most harmful provisions. Republicans voted down nearly all of our amendments, including those to:
- ban discrimination in admissions
- ensure adequate funding for students in rural areas
- require financial transparency

This is welfare for the wealthy. These vouchers cover a fraction of the cost of tuition for most private schools, effectively subsidizing families who can already afford it and neglecting the students who are most at risk of poor educational outcomes.
February 27, 2025 at 9:08 PM
South Carolina has underfunded its public schools for decades. Now the Republican private school voucher scheme will take your tax dollars and give them to unaccountable institutions.
