Huge thank-you to Senate Minority Leader Brad Hutto, Senators Ronnie Sabb, and Senator Deon Tedder for stopping SB 323 in its tracks.

Because Democrats stood united and refused to back down, human rights won. #SCPol #SCDems

South Carolinians: SB 323 is the most extreme abortion ban in the country, threatening doctors, patients, families, even contraception and IVF.

You can make your voice heard: send written testimony to [email protected] today.

When your @AGAlanWilson is careless with their words and the power of their voice, we must be safe and aware. As a SC Dem, we don't support lawlessness and we truly back our blue but can all of you say the same? #SCPol #New52

Congratulations to Keishan Scott on winning the 2025 special election for SC House District 50! At just 24, Rep. Scott is bringing fresh energy and bold leadership to Lee, Sumter, and Kershaw counties. Let's go, Keishan! #SCDems #SCPolitics

This weekend, Democrats from across the state came together for the SCDP Convention. We’re proud of Rep. Roger Kirby, who was elected 1st Vice Chair, Rep. Chandra Dillard & Rep. Spencer Wetmore who were Convention Co-Chairs, and Rep. Jermaine Johnson, who is exploring a run for governor!

We need Keishan Scott in the State House!

Donate to his campaign today — and if you live in House District 50 in Lee, Sumter, and Kershaw counties, go vote! Early voting has started and Election Day is June 3.

Nearly 1 in 4 South Carolinians will see their taxes go UP under the GOP’s new tax plan. Eliminating key deductions hurts working families while the wealthiest benefit. Read more about H.4216 and why we’re sounding the alarm. #SCpol #FairTaxes

The House passed a bill to expand paid parental leave for state employee to 12 weeks.

H. 3645 is important pro-family legislation — but a few extremists tried to kill the bill at the last minute.

Trump’s tariffs are hurting South Carolina.

Projects like BMW’s plant in the Upstate create thousands of jobs and invest billions of dollars — but one of Trump’s top advisors said this “doesn’t work for America.”

Reps. Wendell Jones, Chandra Dillard & Hamilton Grant set the record straight ➡️

The House passed the anti-diversity, equity, and inclusion bill by a vote of 32 to 82.
Republicans just filed an amendment, completely rewriting their bill at the end of the diversity, equity, and inclusion debate.

This means the new bill received no public testimony, no discussion in committee, and just 6 minutes of debate on the floor.

We’re excited to welcome Rep. Courtney Waters to the South Carolina House of Representatives! Stay tuned tomorrow as she joins us in the fight to protect diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Republicans just backed down, adjourning debate on H. 3927.

Democrats will keep fighting to protect diversity, equity, and inclusion — today, next week, or any other time they want to push this divisive legislation on the people of South Carolina.

It’s a sad day in South Carolina as we debate H. 3927.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion are American values. We oppose this bill because it seeks to sow division at a time when we need unity.

Tonight the House passed a state budget that funds the core functions of government — and thanks to our efforts, it does not include the anti-diversity, equity, and inclusion proviso!

We just passed H. 3497 to reform our liquor liability laws, bring down high insurance premiums, and save restaurants and small businesses in South Carolina.

The House voted unanimously to send this bill to the Senate. Watch Rep. Roger Kirby explain what this means for our state:

Let’s talk about H. 3457, the extreme abortion ban that would take away exceptions for rape and incest.

This extreme abortion ban bill is wrong for South Carolina.

Watch Rep. Spencer Wetmore and Rep. Justin Bamberg’s reaction to today’s House subcommittee meeting on H. 3457.

South Carolina has underfunded its public schools for decades. Now the Republican private school voucher scheme will take your tax dollars and give them to unaccountable institutions.
