today in my elfgame: sacrificed a snowman for science, dueled with a sad but somewhat friendly demon, earned their boon, dropped wizard and druid in a slime pit in a makeshift submarine, evaded a crystal hand, captured a mutant monster also for science, learned its secrets, and immolated it

today in my elfgame: sacrificed a snowman for science, dueled with a sad but somewhat friendly demon, earned their boon, dropped wizard and druid in a slime pit in a makeshift submarine, evaded a crystal hand, captured a mutant monster also for science, learned its secrets, and immolated it

The bingo board felt revolutionary. Both in the ways it let players frame the arc they wanted for their knight and how it shaped play.

Apocalypse World is far and away my favorite game, period, and this new edition is *even better*.
today in my dragon game: overwhelmed a robot army, caught the interest of a roc while climbing a sheer cliff, saved a dwarf with bird calls and hoisting, nailed down our funeral plans, bear-baited a mutant with magical cancer, and found a pool with crystals in it--classic!

this is the crux of it. it was truest, perhaps, back in 2010, but it is as true now as it ever was that being fluent in Apocalypse World is like seeing the matrix of modern RPG design.
Whether you back Apocalypse World for not, it's going to impact your gaming. But in backing it, you'll get to see it coming.

tonight in my 🔺game! made a bowler hat and fantasy map, became the clientele of a Chinatown hot pot place for a meeting with Lady Luck herself, did an MRI on her to find and "surgically" extract a brainworm we then trapped inside the music playing in the restaurant, and forced the GM into therapy

I repeat, if you have enjoyed (or designed!) a tabletop roleplaying game in the past 15 years, you owe it to yourself (and the Bakers!) to make this the most successful Kickstarter of all time.
tonight in my elfgame: slapped a pig demon into the acid lake (twice), lost a lotta blood, blinded 'em with the sun, cast spells to impress an elemental friend, set up a fort on Slime Mountain, avoided contemplating the end, explored Slime Cavern as gas, and bought a one-way ticket to a lower level

today in forbidden lands: made camp in a magic thunderstorm, resurrected a mercy-kill, looted the fuck out of a room, parkoured over a boulder trap, dinner with our demon friend, crammed forty dudes through a dungeon entrance, did the hokey pokey with animating statues, saved youths from dissection
