A small but very deep thing that bothers me about generative AI as a shortcut to practice and work and skill is the basic assumption that it’s impossible to take pleasure in a creative pursuit that you aren’t very good at and I assure you that is not the case

Because people are once again whining about ai being the only way to make art here are a few books I used to teach myself how to draw (in my 30s)! Just put in a little effort each day doing the exercises, focus on how you look at shapes/shadow/texture/light and you'll be drawing in no time!

mods are asleep, post fingies. this is Phantom Shoreline by Chameleon Nails, a reactive thermal polish that goes from a light beigey nude in its warm state to a purplish pink in its cold state. apparently it also has solar color changing properties but it hasn't been sunny enough here to trigger.

rant incoming! listen. i am an experienced and competent gamer. i have been gaming since the 8 bit Nintendo era. i platinum'd Elden Ring. i am 33% of the way through Expedition 33 playing on normal difficulty and the dodge/parry system makes me want to smash my controller through my tv screen.
